About the Brooke
Since 1934, the Brooke has worked to relieve the suffering of working horses and donkeys in some of the world's poorest communities.
Very often, these animals are the only means their owners have of earning a living, and a single horse or donkey frequently supports an entire family through its work.
Our dedicated vets and their teams provide free veterinary care to the animals who need it most, and education and training for their owners on the best ways to care for them.
Last year, our teams reached over 700,000 working horses and donkeys. We could only help them because animal-lovers like you supported us in this difficult work.
The Brooke's TV appeal was filmed on location at the brick kilns near Delhi, in India. A vet was present at all times, and no animal was harmed.
